Gender equality is at the very heart of human rights and United Nations values. A fundamental principle of the United Nations Charter adopted by world leaders in 1945 is “equal rights of men and women”. It is the responsibility of all States to protect and promote women’s human rights. Despite this, women and girls around the world regularly suffer violations of their human rights throughout their life cycle, and the realisation of women’s human rights has not always been accorded priority attention. The promotion of women and girl’s human rights and the achievement of gender equality are at the core of this component of our team’s responsibilities and commitments.
Our consultants have a solid knowledge of core governmental policies and national systems, in relation to human rights issues. They have broad-based experience in gender equality and women and girls’ rights. In addition, they specialise in research, policy analysis and gender mainstreaming, with a particular interest in violence against women and children, organisational learning and change, social movements/activism, and understanding social norms.
